Meet Our Feature Artist for August | Future Haunts 19 Aug 2019 2019 is shaping up to be the biggest year yet for our August feature artist, Future Haunts. Following the release of their anthemic latest single, ‘Fall In Line’, the Brisbane four-piece is gearing up to impress their hometown with two showcases at BIGSOUND 2019. Self-recorded at Plutonium Studios and mixed by Miro Mackie (St. Vincent, DZ Deathrays, Hatchie), ‘Fall In Line’ is a punch-back at ‘draconian’ lockout laws. Ben Speight explains that the track was ‘written around the time lockout laws were being introduced in Sydney and Brisbane. The live music community in Brisbane has worked extremely hard to develop one of the best places to go and engage with artists, and there really was a lot of uncertainty what consequences this would have on live music and the broader nightlife scene.’ Future Haunts have already proven their dedication to the nightlife scene and have gained a reputation for their dynamic live performances having supported the likes of Middle Kids, Hockey Dad, Horror My Friend and Bad//Dreems. Their previous single, ‘Weather Vane’ also earned Future Haunts strong community radio and online support, including triple j play and playlist adds to Apple Music’s ‘Best of The Week’, Heaps Indie, ‘The A-List Alternative’ and ‘Today’s Indie Rock’, as well as Spotify’s ‘Broad Chords’ and Gigster’s ‘The In’. Catch Future Haunts at BIGSOUND on Wednesday September 4th at The Foundry and Thursday September 5th at Heya Bar.
