GYRO Summer Festival Guide

17 Oct 2019

As the weather starts to heat up, the summer festival announcements start rolling in. If your timeline is overwhelmed by lineups, don’t stress. We’ve compiled a list of searing hot festivals to help you keep your cool over the next few months.

This That

This November, This That festival will be taking over Wickham Park in Newcastle. Unlike any other, this self-proclaimed ‘sensory overload’ reinvents the traditional festival experience. Hit up THIS stage to get your fix of pop, hip-hop and electronica before getting down at THAT stage, a bass-haven dedicated to DJs and Electronica. With a lineup as diverse as THIS THAT’s (Ali Barter, Camouflage Rose, DIDIRRI Peking Duck), this unique festival is definitely one not to miss. Get your tickets here!

San        SandTunes

If you’re looking for an excuse for a weekend escape, say hello to summer’s newest two-day festival. The inaugural Sandtunes will be landing on the Gold Coast on Saturday 30th of Nov and Sunday 1st of December. Catch international icons LOGIC, Travis Scott and Carly Rae Jepson - as well as our favourite Kwame fresh off his explosive sets at Splendour in The Grass. Don’t miss out - secure your tix here.

Best Night Ever

Need to bridge that awkward gap between Christmas and New Years? Best Night Ever is your answer. This year the festival finds a new home at the intimate Miami Marketta on the Gold Coast. Catch your fave Aussie guitar-wielding rock legends including Ruby Fields and The Chatts - as well as a cheeky secret headliner yet to be announced. Did we mention every ticket purchase goes into the draw to win A Year of Beer thanks to Young Henry's plus a Best Night Ever merch bundle? Best Night Ever has sold out for the last two years, so make sure you get your tickets here ASAP.

Hotter Than Hell

Just when we thought Aussie summers couldn’t get any steamier, the Hotter Than Hell tour decides to turn up the temperature. The tour will bring its mayhem to some unexpected and unsuspecting venues across February 2020. With artists such as Everclear, The Grates and The Superjesus, this lineup is tailored to the true 90s and 00’s music lover. Get your hot little hands on tickets here before they sell out.

XXXX Brewery Fest

What could be more Aussie than a summer music festival at the home of the Milton Mango? On Saturday the 16th November XXXX Brewery will open its gates to the public for the first time in 26 years, playing host to a line-up of Aussie faves - including HOLY HOLY, Confidence Man and GOOD BOY. The good times don’t end there, though, with a handful of Brisbane’s best DJ’s kicking off the after-party in the XXXX Alehouse. We’ll cheers to that! Get your tickets here before the rest of Brissy snaps them up.
