Meet Our Feature Artist for October | Colie 24 Oct 2019 Say hello to our Feature Artist for October - Colie. Summer is approaching and the North Queensland folk-singer's stocks are rising just as quickly as the temperature. Her debut single 'Sunday News' debuted to glowing reception in February before the release of the intimate Bug On A Lamplight EP in May. Good things must come in threes as her follow up single 'Half Of What Your Are' is her most personal track yet. 'Sunday News' received extensive airplay on 2RRR, triple j, ABC Local and double j which culminated in the song being selected as a featured entry in the 2020 Queensland Music Awards. The second track on her EP, 'Her Hands' also received recognition and was announced as a finalist in Listen Up's annual Songwriting Prize to be announced in November. Her talents aren't limited to the studio either with the songwriter having played alongside Lime Cordiale, Greta Stanley and regularly performing in her native North Queensland. The inspiration to Colie's exceptionally heartfelt and poetic writing is drawn from a variety of influences in her life. It began at an early age with her grandfather reciting Australian poetry before expanding to artists including Julia Jacklin, Johnny Cash and The Police. The passion Colie carries for music is clear and obvious with the young folk-singer co-founding the Neck Of The Woods Music Festival and Neighbourhood Sessions. Colie's sound is honest, vulnerable, poetic, assuring and will warm even the coldest hearts. Listen to her new single 'Half Of What You Are' before she hits the road to tour the East Coast with Dan Baker on the 'Half Of What You Are' tour.
