Meet Your May Feature Artist... FRITZ

24 May 2018

Our May feature artist is none other than Newcastle's penultimate prom queen, FRITZ. One thing is for certain, FRITZ fights fire with fire in the video for her latest single, 'Biggest Fool In The World'

'Biggest Fool In The World' video was directed by FRITZ (Tilly Murphy) and features a rather mean-spirited Joab Eastley (of RAAVE TAPES), as well as cameos from some of The Steel City's finest young talent. Channeling classic school dance vibes akin to Napoleon Dynamite and Clueless, the video and song are inspired by FRITZ's disdain for 'pointless' social events in high school "which usually go terribly," she says.

The premiere of 'Biggest Fool In The World' on triple j unearthed, comes just as the bubbly dream-pop newcomer caps off what has been a stellar first year. Somehow also managing to fit in high school graduation, Fritz has supported Fazerdaze, WAAX, Jess Locke, Cub Sport, Middle Kids, RAAVE TAPES, The Belligerents, and more just in the last 12 months. Landing a spot as FBi Radio's Independent Artist of the Week and hitting number six on the triple j Unearthed charts for her debut release 'Yuk!', FRITZ has gone on to play a raft of taste-maker festivals including Sounds of the Suburbs, The Mountain Goat Valley Crawl and Secret Garden Festival, with Woolongong's Yours & Owls just around the corner.

Fresh from a national support tour with fellow DIY-til-you-die Ruby Fields, young FRITZ is steadily gaining a legion of followers thanks to her quirky on-stage banter and infectious laugh. With momentum like this, 'Pointless' social events may be a thing of the past.
