Meet Our Feature Artist For April | DVNA 09 Apr 2019 DVNA (pronounced Dar-na) is our feature artist for April. Like a mojito on a hot Summer's day, her new single 'Looking Like a Snack' is cool, calm and utterly refreshing. DVNA is a sassy, bold and intriguing project born within the depths of a Gold Coast bedroom in early 2017. It was inspired by the determination to single handedly fulfil her greatest musical desires through her own production. Making bold moves with her debut single 'Girl On The Move', the track now has over half a million streams on streaming services and featured on Spotify's taste-making playlists New Music Friday and Viral 50 in Australia. The explosive tune copped spins on triple j and regular plays on triple j Unearthed, not to mention her DMA's remix which became runner up in Unearthed's remix competition. DVNA's success translates to the stage too, having supported Kira Piru and performed at the acclaimed Jungle Love Festival and shortly Bleach Festival. Her latest tune ‘Looking Like A Snack’ was inspired by a range of artists, from Lilly Allen to Travis Scott and Frank Ocean. The track tells a story of a past lover who you didn’t appreciate in the moment, but after a chunk of time passes you meet again, and realising what you’ve missed that longing flame sparks. 'Looking Like A Snack' premiered on triple j Unearthed's TOPS and scored airplay on triple j, receiving huge praise from both the triple j Unearthed and triple j teams. The track was added to Spotify playlists including 'New Music Friday', 'Front Left', 'Just Chill', 'Pop Edge' and 'Indie Arrivals'. Her sound is fierce, emotive and heading straight for your feels, fusing elements of soul and modern day electronica to create her own unique blend. With two more singles and an EP planned for 2019 it’s time to prepare yourselves for a new break out artist on the scene.
