Meet Our Feature Artist For May | Oh Boy 09 May 2019 As we cruise into the colder part of the year, it’s time to get cosy with our feature artist for May, Oh Boy. Oh Boy recently released his debut EP Brentwood Heights, showcasing a unique atmosphere that glides between indie pop, playful hip-hop, and electro-piano ballads with collaborations aplenty. Brentwood Heights is a culmination of tracks written in Hawaii, Los Angeles and Sydney, a mixed bag of habitats which illustrates the journey and transition of a conscious soul entangled in modern societal expectation. With big ideas in sight, Oh Boy chose to collaborate with Cub Sport, Golden Vessel, LOVER, Cult Shφtta and Oordaya (who featured on lead single Talk To M333) to create a soundscape like no other. So far the EP has been featured on Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday AU’, ‘Urban Flavour’, ‘Indie Arrivals’ playlists, and seen praise from the likes of Pilerats, Cool Accidents, Purple Sneakers, Project U, Acid Stag and more. Oh Boy first burst into the scene in 2017 with two incredibly successful singles featuring Mallrat, culminating in a performance at the huge Splendour In The Grass festival. Both ‘Bunny Island’ and ‘Rush Hour’ saw radio play on FBi Radio, triple j and triple j Unearthed, with the latter amassing over a million streams on Spotify. 2018 saw Oh Boy collaborate with the soulful imbi the girl on ‘You See Me’. With live dates on the horizon and many more plans and ideas for his future, where Oh Boy could go is anybody’s guess. Listen to the full EP below!
