🎵 Happy New Music Friday 🎵

We're back with fresh releases from Stilla, Matahara, Thursday Maybe, ELISHIA, and breathe. to kickstart your weekend!

ENERGY - Stilla

Stilla's upcoming single 'ENERGY', the second release from her debut EP, follows the success of her 2024 single 'UNDER THE WEATHER'. Co-produced by Stilla and Nathan Zammit and mixed by Hayden Lauerson (Tentendo, Sophiya, Boy Soda), 'ENERGY' is a funk-pop anthem celebrating self-love, romanticising life, and embracing the "main character" mindset. With live bass, guitar, punchy pop drums, and lush vocal stacks, this track's magnetic vibe and catchy hook are sure to make it a crowd favorite. Stilla's luminous soprano vocals and edgy production bring a fresh perspective to the Australian pop scene, influenced by artists like Ariana Grande and Dua Lipa.

Slippery - Matahara

'Slippery', Matahara's new single, follows 'You’re So Cold (Like My House)', which saw her sell out her Naarm single launch, gain airplay on Triple J, and land playlists in Australia and Indonesia. 'Slippery' features an alluring Bossa Nova beat and acoustic production, creating the perfect soundtrack to a holiday, real or imagined. Matahara, whose project name means ‘the sun’ in Indonesian, creates distinctive and forward-thinking bedroom pop inspired by alternative pop and dance/electronic music. With two EPs released, collaborations with Nick Littlemore and Gab Strum, and performing at BIGSOUND 2024, Matahara continues to shine.

Close Is Enough - Thursday Maybe

'Close Is Enough' is Thursday Maybe's debut single, a heartfelt indie-folk ballad capturing the bittersweetness of a relationship that never fully becomes what you hope for. The track starts with stark, intimate three-part harmonies and builds to an emotional bridge with live strings and dense vocal stacks. Thursday Maybe's vulnerable lyricism, acoustic warmth, and dissonant harmonies create a unique sonic world. Emerging as a captivating force in the Brisbane music scene, they've opened for artists like This New Light, Jack Davies, and Maple Glider.

Flex - ELISHIA

'Flex' is ELISHIA's energetic pop anthem about lacking self-control and giving in to temptations. Written with producer/songwriter Ben Oldland, the track incorporates ELISHIA's love of '80s aerobics and her penchant for saying yes to everything. ELISHIA, the Maltese/Australian dark pop artist and DJ from Sydney, has turned heads with powerful pop dance anthems. Her debut track 'Mykonos' amassed over 1 million streams, and subsequent releases 'SOLO' and 'Rendezvous' secured spots on Spotify's Fresh Finds AU and Apple's New Music Daily. Her latest single, 'Down', received radio play on Triple J's and Home & Hosed.

I Did This - breathe. & Eli Moon

Made during a production trip to Bristol, UK, 'I Did This' is a beautiful, spare, bruised ode to a self-broken heart. This third release from breathe.'s third EP continues their minimalist, pensive electronica, reminiscent of artists like Jungle, Massive Attack, Jamie xx, and James Blake. breathe. has garnered features in Complex and XLR8, performed alongside Solange, Darkside, SBTRKT, and more, and their music has been featured in campaigns for Tesla, Lancôme Paris, and Netflix’s "You" and "Elite." With rotation on KCRW, BBC Radio 6, and Triple J, breathe. continues to captivate listeners.
