Salt - ixaras
'Salt' is a heartfelt track about moving on and the conflicted emotions that come with it. ixaras, a queer Indie Pop Rock artist from Meanjin Brisbane, wrote this song to aid herself in the journey of letting go. Her music, known for melodic earworms and thought-provoking lyrics about growing up and young love, reflects her passion for self-expression. ixaras also runs the DIY event management and record label Anti-Dismal, hosting multiple sold-out headline shows and launching the record label arm of her company.
My Lover Girl - Gordon's Grandson
Gordon's Grandson, the 19-year-old Melbourne-based Tasmanian artist, brings us 'My Lover Girl' which was fully self-written, recorded, and produced in his bedroom. "My intention is never to make a specific type of song. There’s just always 1 little thing that sets off my creativity and I just go from there, this time it was a voicemail. I made the intro voicemail snippet before I’d even thought about turning it into a song."
Wild Hearts - Karise Eden
'Wild Hearts' marks a positive shift for Karise Eden, known for her darker pop themes. Written on the side of a road during a journey to a gig, this song is her most upbeat track as an independent artist. Karise, who shot to fame at 19 with a viral audition video, boasts one of Australia’s most distinctive voices. With two ARIA Awards, gold and platinum records, and multiple Top 5 chart positions, she continues to captivate audiences with her powerful vocals and emotive ballads.
shy love - Ivoris
'shy love' captures the feeling of overwhelming love with an intimate yet expansive production. Featuring acoustic guitar and a dramatic string orchestra, this track builds from a shy start to a cathartic release. Ivoris, known for her charming blend of pop and R&B, has built a loyal global fanbase with her nostalgic and whimsical sound.
slut era - annie hamilton
'slut era' is annie hamilton's industrial-feminine-rage-pop anthem. This track captures the overwhelming and absurd patriarchal expectations placed on women with a fun, playful, and tongue-in-cheek approach. The chorus, with lines like "gotta be shareable! vulnerable! fuckable! relatable! dinner-on-a-plateable! burn-her-at-the-stakeable!" highlights the impossibility of meeting these standards. Eora/Sydney-based annie hamilton is known for her visceral, shimmering textures and wild, kinetic energy, continuously pushing the boundaries of indie-rock and alt-pop.
