In today's fast-paced digital world, getting an early buzz around your music release is crucial. One of the best ways to create excitement and engage your audience before your official release is to leverage social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to get your music on these platforms before it officially drops.
Getting Your Single on Socials Early
We can deliver your release to TikTok early, making it searchable on the platform within 48 hours.
For Meta (Facebook/Instagram), the licensing agreement with DSPs does not allow early delivery of releases. If we send the track early, Meta will make the full song live instead of a snippet, which isn’t ideal for pre-release promotion.
As an alternative, you can:
a) Upload a 30–60 second snippet to your GYRO dashboard and select only ‘Facebook/Instagram’ as the delivery targets.
b) Or use your own original audio directly on Instagram.
Getting Your Focus Track from EP/Album on Socials Early
Step 1: Create a New Release
First, log in to your GYROstream account and go to the release creation page. Follow the steps to create a new release, a unique UPC will be generated for this pre-release, keeping it separate from your official release.
For TikTok, please contact our support team to arrange a manual setup (using the regular release date). Make sure to let us know your desired preview start time and confirm that you want the clip limited to 60 seconds.

Step 2: Select Your Delivery Targets
When setting your delivery targets, select only ‘Instagram’ and ‘TikTok (Social App)’. Do not select ‘TikTok Music’. This ensures your pre-release content is delivered to the right platforms and reaches your audience at the right time.
For Instagram (Meta), you’ll need to create a separate release:
- Use a different ISRC, as the snippet’s audio is considered a variation of the original track.
- Upload a preview clip between 30–60 seconds in length.
- Set your early release date specifically for Instagram.
This process keeps your main release and Instagram pre-release properly separated and compliant with platform requirements.

Step 3: Promote, Promote, Promote!
Once your pre-release snippet is live on Instagram and TikTok, it’s time to promote! Use engaging captions, hashtags, and calls-to-action to encourage your followers to listen to the preview. Collaborate with influencers, create challenges, and engage with your audience’s comments and shares to maximise reach and engagement.
Conclusion
Using Instagram and TikTok for an early preview of your music release can be a game-changer in your promotional strategy. By carefully managing your delivery targets and ensuring consistent ISRC usage, you can create a seamless and exciting pre-release experience for your fans.
